Champoluc - Monterosa Ski Slopes
Champoluc, nestled in Val d’Ayas, is one of the most renowned resorts in Val d’Aosta and is the hub of Monterosa Ski, one of Italy’s most important ski areas. Its international prestige derives from the variety of slopes, suitable for skiers of all levels, the wide range of sporting activities available even in summer, and the beautiful larch and pine forests that provide a picturesque backdrop to the slopes.
A highlight of Champoluc is the “Ski to the Feet – Monterosa Ski” circuit , a unique route that attracts skiers from all over the world. The dynamic and diverse slopes offer the chance to discover unique landscapes, especially when you reach nearby Frachey.
For mountaineering and climbing enthusiasts, Champoluc is an ideal base for exploring the Monte Rosa range and reaching the imposing peaks of Castor (4,226 m) and Pollux (4,091 m).
An interesting detail: this area of the massif is dominated by glaciers and gentle slopes, including the Verra Glacier, which at 611 hectares is the second largest in Italy’s Monte Rosa. Towering over this magnificent area, Punta Dufour (4,638 m) rises majestically, looking toward Macugnaga, where the spectacular east face of Monte Rosa, the highest in the Alps, comparable in grandeur to the mountains of the Himalayas , is located .
