Next to Bormio, we cannot forget the Santa Caterina Valfurva or simply “Santa” ski area, a paradise for lovers of skiing but also of silence, wonderful landscapes and the majesty of nature surrounding the slopes with the peaks of the Ortles-Cevedale group.
Santa Caterina Valfurva, along with Bormio, Cima Piazzi (Isolaccia – Oga) and Livigno, has adopted the innovative MyPass Ski Skipass. With a single Skicard you can ski throughout Valtellina, without where to buy one ski pass per ski area, without having to decide in advance which Skipass to buy, paying at the end of the day according to actual use. With MyPass Ski you can ski on the more than 35 km of slopes in Santa caterina Valfurva (2 blue, 12 red and 2 black). Santa Caterina stretches between 1738 m, village elevation, and 3,000 m Mount Sobretta, making it an Eden for lovers of pristine purity in Alta Valtellina.
With 10 lifts, including the 8-passenger gondola to the Alpe Valley and the Sunny Valley hut, also suitable for non-skiers, it is an oasis of peace and serenity, far removed from the idea of large ski areas and the ski industry.
A village that not only succeeds in capturing the most demanding skiers, but also has hometown of Olympic Champion Deborah Compagnoni, to whom the most important slope in the area is dedicated.

Thanks to the snowpack to an advanced artificial snowmaking system, the “Compagnoni” black slope was opened in 2005 for the World Alpine Ski Championships.

Four kilometers long and with an efficient lighting system, it is the slope a must for skiers who want to try their hand at this very technical slope both day and night, in a fairy-tale setting.
Santa Caterina also provides fun for the little ones. In fact, children can try their hand at skiing in the modern school field equipped with a treadmill, ideal for learning to ski together with the ski instructors of the ski and snowboard school.
